If you have any problems email membership@solidfund.coop Our funds are managed by Industrial Common Ownership Finance Ltd (ICOF). A fully registered and worker co-op friendly financial organisation.

Solidfund was started by a group of people with a vision to create a strong, growing and self-reliant network of workers co-ops. Because we believe businesses owned, controlled and for the benefit of their workers create a fairer and more sustainable society.

The permanent common fund, paid for by voluntary subscriptions of worker co-op members and others that support industrial democracy and collective ownership is used to support activity that:

  • Provides relevant education and training for worker co-ops
  • Brings worker co-operators together
  • Identifies and spreads best practice in worker co-operation
  • Strengthens the self-reliance and autonomy of worker co-ops
  • Guarantees the continuity of worker co-op organisation and culture.

Getting involved

Now that you are a member we would love you to get involved in Solidfund. Most importantly join our Loomio group to discuss-and-decide how we should grow and where we should use our money most effectly to support worker co-op development.  If you have not used Loomio before more information on how to use it can be found here.

We operate an open management process and rely on volunteers to run. Our Governing document and operating manual set out how we operate SolidFund. Any member can make proposals for improving how we run or where to spend the money, but please read through the relevant section first.

We are also developing some sub-groups to focus on particular areas:

Marketing and Communications:  A sub-group to look at marketing the fund, producing content for the website, social media and any other communications.

Education and culture:  A sub-group to focus on member education how we explain the fund to new members and ensure a good culture of openness, adherence to rules and effective decision making.

Website and Technology: A subgroup to look after the website and other technology.

Governance: A sub-group to discuss changes to the rules, membership,  keep a watching briefing legal issues and whether we need to incorporate.

Fund Management: A subgroup to keep an eye on the money, what we have, where it is spent and liaising with ICOF if necessary.
